ITB WOULD CONSIDER TAHFIDZ QUR’AN ACHIEVEMENT

ITB WOULD CONSIDER TAHFIDZ QUR’AN ACHIEVEMENT

Bandung – A drizzle welcomed study tour group of MAS Tahfidz Yanbu’ul Qur’an arrival in entrance gate yard of Institute of Bandung Technology (ITB) that was decorated by the creeping plant with the style of ancient architecture. Achmad Luckyta Fasyni, first MASTYQ’s graduation that was accepted to have a college in ITB by taking Science Faculty (FMIPA) exactly for Astronomy major appeared to them in the lane to meeting hall, which was the same place they placed two years ago in the first visit to ITB 2014.
“I am sorry. Actually, I am not the person in charge. Mr. Budi is the person. But he has a little business. Don’t worry, he will come for us as soon as possible.” Mr. Asep Mulia welcomed us by saying sorry for the late of the public relation staff that would guide them in this meeting.
After several minutes waiting by watching the video of the initial of ITB, the meeting is decided to start. Mr. Asep pleased Mr. Fanani as the principle of MASTYQ to convey the speech. He introduced their school and their first graduation that could pierce ITB, Achmad Luckyta Fasyni. Besides that, Mr. Fanani also acquainted Muhammad Abyan Dzaka’, one of the students who was interested to have a college there. Mr. Fanani also explained that this was the second visit to ITB.
In the middle of his speech, Mr. Budi Mulyadi as the chief of sub directory of public relation and publication came to us to lead this meeting. Without any further ado, he took over the speech after Mr. Fanani accomplished his speech and retold the main point to Mr. Budi.
Mr. Budi started his speech by introducing this hall which had a high history. He said that this hall was built by the Dutch architect and finished on July 3rd 1920. This hall also had ever become the class and the graduation ceremony place of Ir. Soekarno and Prof. Habibie.
Then he explained the pass to enter ITB. Like it’s brother, UNPAD, ITB had no independent pass. Every year, ITB received more than 16.000 bachelor candidate from SNMPTN and SBMPTN with the proportion 60% for SNMPTN and 40% for SBMPTN. ITB applied 10 million for its cost per semester for all faculties. It could be decreased based on the parent’s income. Beside, ITB also offered many scholarships for poor college students.
ITB also opened the new major in several faculties such as Biomedical, Bioenergy and Kemurgi Technique, Food Technique, etc. It opened more opportunity to the candidate of college students to study in ITB. Now, ITB had 12 faculties. “It’s easy to enter ITB, Be Achievement!” Said Mr. Budi.
ITB also expanded its college area to Jatinangor, near with UNPAD with the width 47 ha. While in the heart of Bandung city, its width was 30 ha. He told that ITB was research university. That’s why ITB had 202 laboratoriums that could be added more than it.
In question and answer session, Abyan Dzaka’ which the student who was acquainted by Mr. Fanani just now caused his interest to continue his study at ITB proposed many questions. One of it was asking for the probability of ITB to accept Qur’an memorizer (hamilul Qur’an). “A very great question. I hope so. Attach it to the registration of SNMPTN, ITB will consider it.” Responded Mr. Budi enthusiastic. Beside, Abyan also asked about the cooperation between ITB and Ministry of Religion Affairs (Kemenag RI) in the case of the program of PBSB (Scholarship Giving for a Smart Santri). Mr. Budi replied that ITB had no cooperation with Kemenag RI in that program.

In the last occasion, Mr. Budi said the hope to Abyan so that he could have a meeting with him on August tomorrow at ITB. “I hope I can meet you again on August tomorrow here.” He said while shaking hand with Abyan.

MASTYQ GOT A GREAT WELCOME FROM UNPAD

MASTYQ GOT A GREAT WELCOME FROM UNPAD

Bandung – A plain welcomed the study tour group of MAS Tafhidz Yanbu’ul Qur’an (MASTYQ) arrival at Padjadjaran University (UNPAD). The waterspout and the green plant wall combined by the background of the big building and the mountain enhanced their eyes to keep seeing this awesome university. Either this was made the students or the teachers perpetuated their self in this moment. In east side, appeared the logo of UNPAD made from the assembly of the grass. Yup, this was the first destination in study tour group of MASTYQ 2016.
They were received by the directorate education of new student registry division, Mr. Sugiarto and Mrs. Irma Nur’aini in the meeting hall inside of the head university office. According to Mrs. Irma speech, she stated that this arrival should be received by the vice of the head university. “Due to business, he put the faith to both of us.” She said in the opening as the master ceremony.
Before going to the deep discussion, Mrs. Irma pleased Mr. Fanani as MASTYQ’s principal to convey the aim in this visit. He introduced Pondok Tahfidz Yanbu’ul Qur’an Menawan (PTYQM) and MAS Tahfidz Yanbu’ul Qur’an which several of the first graduation could penetrate the state university, such as ITB and ITS. “60% were accepted in the state university via SBMPTN.” He stated. Then he explained the goal they were here. “Mbah Ulin as the founding father of our Islamic boarding school wonders the students to be a Huffadz Technokrat and a Technokrat Huffadz.” He said. In row with Mr. Fanani, Mr. Faiz as the leader of PTYQM strengthened the statement of Mr. Fanani. “We introduced UNPAD to Santri”.
Hearing a great speech from Mr. Fanani and Mr. Faiz, Mr. Sugiarto replied with the inspiring statement. “An extraordinary generation, memorizing Qur’an. Expected to be like Zahir Na’im.” He said with the full of his amazement and a merry clapping from the audiences.
Then he explained where UNPAD began. UNPAD was located in the middle of bandung, exactly on Jatinangor. Some people said, it was in Sumedang territorial. UNPAD was built by the reflection of society need. On 1957, first president of Indonesia republic Ir. Soekarno declared this university, which only had 4 faculties in the initial, law, economy, education, and medicine faculty. Now UNPAD evolved to big university that had 16 faculties for science and 15 faculties for social. It also had kinds of program, starting from diploma until doctoral. Accreditation average was A. It was obvious why 38.000 collage local students plus 184 foreign collage students hung their hope here.

Entry pass to UNPAD
Mr. Sugiarto explained that his self was always involved in the receiving of new college student via National Selection of State University Entrance (SNMPTN) since 2013. “So, I am the one who knows more the data of new college student.” He said.
Based on the data last year, UNPAD wrote the highest devotee from all institutes and universities in Indonesia. More than 70.000 students chose UNPAD via SNMPTN only. Whereas, UNPAD only served 3000 chairs for each SNMPTN and SBMPTN pass. Total 6000 chairs were served by UNPAD for new collage students. For about 4.5% were accepted from 70.000 registrants via SNMPTN. Unlikely, UNPAD did not hold the independent pass.
Mr. Sugiarto reminded them to do not look at the tight percentage. Nevertheless, they ought to look at the quantity of the registrant. A major with high tight percentage was not always difficult to get in. It depended on the registrant summary. Because the variable here was not the quote of the chair.
The underlined statement here, before sending the data to SNMPTN committee, PDSS should be verified by the school and the student. Why? When the student passed, University would re-verify the data by bringing the original or copy of the report. If not matched, the student would be disqualified.
In question and answer session, several students proposed their critical questions. From those, could be inferred that UNPAD would consider Tahfidz Qur’an achievement, especially in Islamic economy and Arabic literature major. Beside, Mr. Sugiarto responded that UNPAD had no cooperation with Religion Affair Ministry (Kemenag RI) in PBSB (Scholarship Giving for a Smart Santri) case. And the urgent point was UN (National Exam) score wouldn’t influence SNMPTN, but it would influence for the school index.

In the last, Either MASTYQ and UNPAD exchange the souvenir that was representated by Mr. Fanani and Mr. Faiz from MASTYQ’s side and Mr. Sugiarto from UNPAD side.

Now, the objective is for visiting Luckyta (Menawan student who was accepted in ITB, red) and entrusting him to be kept attention by giving him a scholarship from ITB with Tahfidz Qur’an achievement and Arabic and English language ability.” explained Al-Ustadz Manshur in his speech.

Either students or teachers who were not tidy were not allowed to come in ITB and UNPAD. “Don’t embarrass! Keep holding up our boarding school name!” stated Mr. Manshur with the high intonation.

Unlikely, Al-Ustadz Manshur could not join this study tour due to his healthy condition.
